AFS Fishes the Rogue on the Eclipse

August 25, 2017 1 min read

The AFS crew made it out to the river during the eclipse, after weeks of Jon saying "Dudes, we gotta be on the river during the eclipse, what if it's just lights out fishing during the low-light conditions" ...Needless to say Jon had his mind set on catching a fish during the eclipse. So we decided to close down the shop and float. Will showed up in some crazy post apocalyptic get-up, I think his wife let him borrow one of her costumes from burning man.

We put in around 9:30am, just in time to find a spot and fish during the peak of the eclipse. Once we found our spot, what else to do during such a rare moment than to crack some beers and watch the show? It didn’t get completely dark but it was very noticeable that the eclipse was happening. And during the peak of the eclipse sure enough Jon hooks up with a Steelhead!

Yeah, he lost his eclipse fish. Don’t worry though Jon, you’ll have another chance in a couple hundred years or so! Farming fish is easy, getting eatin’ is the hard part.

Once the eclipse was over around 11:00 we continued our float and fished hard all day… No one caught anything. Thanks Jon.
