Sugar Creek Ranch is located in the Scott River Valley of Northern California's Siskiyou County and is about an hour and a half from Medford.
2/28/2019 Update - We are really looking forward to the upcoming season at Sugar Creek Ranch! The early Spring/Summer fishing can be outstanding and should be getting going soon. There has been considerable effort put in to the lakes for the upcoming season as far as weed abatement and habitat enhancement they are fishing great! We will have a first hand report for you in the next couple weeks but now is the time to consider a trip to these excellent private lakes.
There are 8 lakes and ponds on the ranch; the north and south lakes being the largest, the middle ponds smaller. There are trails around each body of water, and dirt roads provide easy access to the north and south ponds from Highway 3.
With such a great variety of water to access, Sugar Creek Ranch is aStillwater angler’s dream come true. All of the lakes and ponds can befished from the shore, while the larger lakes also are wonderful for float tubes, pontoon boats, or even kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Some lakes provide excellent dry fly sight fishing while others might require a sinking line and large streamer presentation.
These trout are big and fight hard, 5 and 6 weight rods are recommended. Sugar Creek is fun for all fisherman whether just beginning or advanced. It's a great chance for beginners to catch big trout and lots of fun for experienced anglers as you will likely bank high numbers of good sized fish. Sugar Creek Ranch operates under an aquaculture permit which allows guests to fish without a CA fishing license.
