Steelhead Coachman

Size

It's hard to find a buggier fly pattern than the steelhead coachman. Tough to beat this fly when fishing for fresh steelies during the summer months. I've found this pattern to be especially productive in our coastal streams with good aquatic insect populations. It's important to keep that in mind when selecting your steelhead patterns: the further upriver the fish swim, the more likely they are to start keying on caddis, stoneflies and such. sz 8
